TCAN1164-Q1: internal clock accuracy

Part Number: TCAN1164-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello expert,

My customer would like to know the internal clock accuracy. Do we have those data could share to customer? Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Hi Ann,

Is this question in reference to the internal clock used for SPI communication? All of the timing specifications in the data related to SPI take into account the tolerance of this oscillator across operating conditions. Can I ask why the customer is interested in this information? I'm curious how this information would impact any decisions that could be made on a system level.

This information is not easily accessible so I'll do some digging in the meantime to see what I can find out.

    Regards,

  • Hello Eric,

Already asked and I will give back to you, thanks!

  • Hello Eric,

Yes, they are asking for SPI clock accuracy. Thanks!

  • Hi Ann,

Thanks for your patience over the US holiday.

The SPI timing characteristics section of the datasheet is pretty thorough in defining the accuracy required to interface with the SPI for this device. Any typically MCU should be able to meet these requirements without further information into how the internal SPI for the device operates. Is these something specific in the customer system that requires more information than what is provided in the datasheet?

  • Hello Eric,

I will provide your reply to them but I'm not sure if they are happy to have this reply after 2 weeks...

    Best regards,
