NS16C2752: UART FIFO alternate and unused pins.

Part Number: NS16C2752

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

we have designed one of the application in which UART FIFO part was used as NS16C2752TVA/NOPB and It was obsoleted now and finding alternate for it with same functionality.

we got same part number with different package which is the part number NS16C2752TVS/NOPB and its foot print is TQFP-48.

Please request you to suggest that is this part is an alternate part it can be used.

And  observed the two pins signal RXRDY1 and RXRDY2 its pin 31and 8 respectively.

These pins are extra pins in new package and it is not used in hardware function

Could you suggest the pins can be left floating or tie directly to VCC and GND or what is value of  Pull up and Pull down required  if in case need?

Summary: this function is covered in software registers setting as RXRDY by setting bits.

  • Hi Murali,

Both devices should be the same die so this should be the best alternative since the same software can be used for this package change.

You can leave this pin floating. The pin itself is an output pin and does not need to be biased if unused.
