TDP2044: USBSS(10Gbps) interface over this redriver

Part Number: TDP2044
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1044, TMUXHS4446, TMUXHS4612

Tool/software:

We have both DP and USB SS muxed inside SoC. I see the datasheet says this is a DP2.1 redriver. Will this re-driver work if there is a USB SS signal @10Gbps through this IC?.

  • Hi,

TDP2044 is uni-directional, so you shouldn't drive USB SS signals through it. What DisplayPort data rate are you planning to use in your system?

If you can accept 10Gbps DisplayPort signals, consider the TUSB1044.

  • Hi,

TUSB1044 looks good. But, this does not provide flip option. Does TMUXHS4446 DP pins are bidirectional. Can I give USBSS signal to DP pins since it's pin are mentioned as I/O?

Do you have a similar device to TMUXHS4446 which support UHBR20?

  • I believe TUSB1044 does support lane routing for flip and normal orientations.

Look at TMUXHS4612. This MUX will support UHBR20, but check that it fits your application.

For more in-depth support I recommend submitting another E2E with the relevant part name. I can help with questions for TDP2044 but other parts are covered by other teams at TI.

    Best,
