My customer INVO has a question about PHY:

Can the software modify registers to control the rate adjustment of 100M or 100M? Can forced 100M, adaptive 100M or 100M be set?

    Hi Jerry,

    The DP83TG720 is 1000Base-T1 only, if the customer needs 100Base-T1, they can consider DP83TC813 or DP83TC817.

    Are there other devices that can support software-configured speeds so that the device can switch between 1000BASE and 100BASE, preferably compatible with 812S P2P?

    As I understand, although 720S can support 1000BASE, the signal channel design is not compatible to lower speed, so we can't just pull down the transmission speed and keep the same design as high speed right? So, if they want to adjust speed dynamically, maybe we don't have such device.

    Hi Jerry,

    Your understanding is correct, we don't have a device that supports both 1000BASE and 100BASE.  This may change in the future but currently there is no device which supports both.
