DS90UB984-Q1EVM: Pattern generation configuration

Hi,

I'm evaluating the DS90UB984-Q1EVM and validating internal pattern generation using ALP tool. I've received 98x Script Gen Tool v5.6 package from TI(on request basis) which contains 98x Script Gen v5p6.py and UserConfig_5p6.py. Using these scripts I was trying to generate 984Conf.py - Auto generated script using ALP which contains pattern generation and DP port configurations. I tried to ran that script from the scripting tab but I'm not able to observe any pattern generation and displaying over DP. FYI, I observed that all the configurations in the 984Conf.py file are success. I can provide you the 984Conf.py file if required. Please let me know if I miss anything. Looking for support.

Setup details:

1. PC connected to DS90UB984-Q1EVM --> Mini-USB interface.

2. Display connected to DS90UB984-Q1EVM --> DP interface.

3. No serializer connected.

    Thanks for the explanation. Our 98x devices are NDA and this is a public forum. Can you please reach out to the local FAE team to post this question in the internal forum? That way, we can take a look at your script and see if there are any discrepancies. Thank you so much!

    In the meantime, I would start off by checking the MODE_SEL straps on the 984 to ensure that they are aligned with what you programmed in the Script Gen. You can take a look at this in 6.4 Device Functional Modes of the datasheet.

    Hi Esther,

    Please find the MODE_SEL straps settings below.
    IDx: I2c address set to 0x58(8-bit) --> pulled pin 1 to high.
    MODE_SEL0: Set to 13.5 Gbps, FPD4 Auto-detect, Daisy-chain disabled --> Pulled pin1 to high.
    MODE_SEL1: Enabled eDP0 & eDP1, HPD 3.3V --> Pulled pin1 to high.
    MODE_SEL2: FPD3/FPD4 (DC OFF), enabled DP SSCG, Primary synchronization --> Pulled pin 3 to high.
    One thing that I'm not sure whether the above settings are aligned with the Script Gen. But I'm trying to use these settings while running the scripts for pattern generation. As a process of debugging, I used to modify some of these MODE_SEL settings, but still I didn't observe any pattern output on display.
    Please let me know if you find any discrepancy in the above settings with the Script Gen file. Thanks!
