Customer is developing a custom board using the ESP32 WROOM 32D MCU and want to integrate USB to UART RS232 protocol with MAX3232CPWR. Attached the schematic below:

Could you check if it looks correct or if there are any improvements needed?

The DIN2 pin must not be left floating. Otherwise, looks OK.

Hi Archie,

I would also recommend pullup resistors on ROUT1 and DIN1. These help with mitigating noise and providing a default state during power on/off.

Also ensure the charge pump capacitors (C22-C25) are placed as close as possible to the transceiver on the layout.
