TS3DV642-Q1: Differential signal problem

Part Number: TS3DV642-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Teams,

TS3DV642-Q1 supports 6 differential or 12 single ended signals or other differential/single ended combinations. Are the 6 differentials D0~D3 SCL SDA and HPD CEC?

How to distinguish the positive and negative terminals of SCL SDA and HPD CEC as differential devices?

  • Hello Vayne,

The SCL, SDA, HPD, and CEC are not differential pins.
    They are special purpose pins.

    These are the differential pins.

    Thanks,

    Nir

  • Hi Nir,

Thank you for your reply, but the following description is included in the datasheet.

And in the following example diagram, both SCL SDA and HPD CEC have differential signals. Could you please help me confirm? Thank you.

  • Hi Vayne,
Nir is out of office for a week or so, so I'll hop in here.
As the section you highlighted mentioned, they are functionally equivalent and can be used for single or differential.
As for distinguishing the positive and negative terminals, it's the same answer from the highlighted section. They're equivalent so either way is fine. Typically the sort of unspoken standard is to have the positive on top so you could go SCL as your positive terminal and SDA as negative for one differential and HPD as positive and CEC as negative for that 6th differential (like how they've drawn it in the image you shared).
But as mentioned, you have a bit of freedom with how to approach it since they're symmetrical.

    Thanks,
    Rami
