TL16C552A: Product Roadmap

Part Number: TL16C552A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL16C752D

Tool/software:

HI, Staff

Please introduce the latest product, TL16C552AFN.

I can imagine that TLC16C552A is a fairly old process.

Please introduce an alternative device.

(How many mm is the micron rule for this device? For reference)

  • This device is designed to connect to the x86 ISA bus; there is no modern device with the same interface.

Do you really have a system with an ISA bus? What is the actual application?

  • Hi Cafain,

Our 'latest' two channel UART device is the TL16C752D. This device was made in LBC7 which is on the newer side of our process technology (most of our transceivers use this process node today because its very cost efficient). This one should be using the 300mm wafer technology if I'm not mistaken.

We have no current plans to expand the UART portfolio roadmap. These devices/technology is considered legacy now since most modern day MCU/processor just have UART built into them.
