Could we use media clock PHY(818/817) and simple TSN PHY(competitor) on same network?
If it is ok, Is there any key consideration for design?

Are you able to share a little more details about what sort of media clock and TSN functionality will be required from these PHYs?

In general, TSN and media clock functionality are based on IEEE standards, so we would not expect any compatibility issues between these PHYs.

Hi Drew-san,

Honestly speaking this project is still under feasibility study stage.
So there isn't any specific functional requirement yet.

I suppose that customer want to ask about whether they can use competitor's normal ETHER AVB PHY with our AVB PHY which can generate media clock itself.

Is it possible?

Hi Kazuki-san,

As long as CRF packets are being sent to our PHY, I would not anticipate an issue with our PHYs AVB functionality.
