DS250DF410: DS250DF410 FIR taps/cursors value calculation

Part Number: DS250DF410

Tool/software:

Hi Drew,

In the datasheet some example values are given, but it doesn’t mention how to calculate other pre/main/post tap/cursor values. Please let us know how to do that.

Below is the snapshot from the datasheet

  • Hi Dilip,

Thanks for creating an E2E for this.

I would recommend using the SigCon Architect profile in order to calculate the approximate TX FIR values.

    Thanks,
    Drew

  • Hi Drew,

One query on this, if I do any configuration change in the retimer using the SigCon during run-time. Will it show the impact on the signal or do I need to power cycle/reset the chipset for the new configuration to apply?

  • Hi Anurag,

Power cycling/resetting the retimer will reset of the registers and erase any configuration changes you have made.

You can make changes to the retimer in runtime using SigCon Architect.  In many cases, you may need to press the "Apply to channel" button for changes to take effect.  If you make changes to the adaptation setting or CDR setting, we recommend performing a CDR reset in order to reset the adaptation and CDR state machines.

You can also read back from registers on the "low level page" in SigCon Architect in case you need to confirm that a setting has been applied.

    Thanks,

    Drew
