LMH0395: Regarding Circuit Number in Reference Design

Part Number: LMH0395

Tool/software:

Dear TI Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently reviewing a reference design and would like to get clarification regarding the specific circuit highlighted used in the design. Could you please provide details about the purpose and function of the circuit highlighted.

Understanding this will greatly assist me in implementing the design correctly.

Thank you for your support and assistance.

Best regards,
Kalandar.

  • Hi Kalandar,

The specific circuit is there to ensure single-ended 75 ohm trace impedance between SDI+ and SDI- lines. Therefore, 75 ohm resistor to GND keeps that single-ended trace impedance. The 75ohm and 5.6nH parallel inductor is part of the SDI specification to have a return loss of at least 15dB from 5MHz to 1.5GHz and 10dB from 1.5GHz to 3GHz.
This link discusses more about the 3G-SDI specification.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Best,
    J

  • Dear J,

Thank you for the detailed explanation regarding the circuit.
I appreciate the reference to the 3G-SDI specification—it was very insightful.

    Best regards,
    Kalandar Shafi
