TCAN1044AEV-Q1: Schematic and design guidance.

Part Number: TCAN1044AEV-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

I am using TCAN1044A as my can transceiver, is it recommended to have a choke on the can high and can low line ? could you also please explain the difference in single and split line termination, pros and cons of both of them ?

In the split line termination what should be the value of the capacitor Cterm, Cbus given in this diagram ?

The same article also explains the disadvantages of having a choke on the CAN line mentioning inductive kickback during dominant to recessive transition by the driver. Can I mitigate the kickback using a tvs diode ?

Thank you,

G Karthik.
