TUSB8044A: can't regonize the device

Hi,

This case based on the below E2E post.

We will provide waveform for 3.3v 1.1v and GRStz signal later.

platform: Jetson Orin AGX

OS Ubuntu

Kernel:5.15.148

JetPack 6.2

connected below device when boot-up:

M.2 MV32 (B-key)

USB TYPE A USB 3.0 Storage

USB TYPE A K/B Dongle

there have 6/1000 chance to lost one of device.

Hi Brian,

This is the first time boot-up waveform.

CH1: 1.1V

CH2: GRSTN

CH3: 3.3V

This is reboot waveform, but it is not the waveform when issue happend, since the fail rate only 6/1000.

Do you want the waveform when issue happend?

CH1: 1.1V

CH2: GRSTN

CH3: 3.3V

What happened for red area in 2nd waveform.

Hi Brian,

That is the gap during the oscilloscope scan.

Due to the longer reboot time, the time setting was adjusted to be longer.

This results in the framed gap, but there is no drop.

Can I see when GRST goes high after 3.3v?

Can you adjust time between 1.1v and 3.3v? 7s is a little longer.

Hi Brian,

There was no delay up to 7 seconds. After 1.1V is enabled, it takes about 7.8 ms for 3.3V to turn on. CH3 is the RST signal.

Additionally, the device drop occurred during a warm boot. During this process, both 1.1V and 3.3V remain powered and are not turned off. thanks!

How do you control downstream port device Vbus? How long the signal trace from hub to device attached?

2.8in PCB trace should be fine.

How did customer control downstream port Vbus? use PWRCTL pin to control Vbus switch?

sorry, I didn't notice last time Green is GRST.

GRST should go high after 3.3v stable.(>3ms)

Hi Brian,

Above waveform is cold boot it will turn off power and trun on again.

But we also found the device drop issue when warm boot, VDD power 1.1V and 3.3V, include GRST always keep high.

Do you have any idea for this? Thanks!

when issue happened, did hub upstream still connected or just downstream port device lost? what device is lost? SS, HS or FS/LS?
