Hi,

What hardware is needed to utilize the EyeScan Tool outside of the EVM? Meaning, can we use an aardvark (the EVM user guide makes some mention of this, but the EyeScan Tool user guide does not), a USB2ANY, USB Interface Adapter, etc?

Hi,

The EyeScan SW is tied to TUSB3410, it looks for the TUSB3410 VID and PID in order to function properly. So you will have to use TUSB3410 when using the EyeScan SW.

Hi David,

Thank you. What is the recommended way to do that? Do I need to buy the EVM and jumper over? Or is there a standalone TUSB3410 I can buy?

Hi,

You could use the TUSB3410 EVM, https://www.ti.com/tool/TUSB3410UARTPDK, but the firmware needs to be upgraded to switch it from UART mode to the I2C mode. If you are interested, I can send you the firmware in a private e2e message.

Or you can use the TUSB3410 on the TMDS181 EVM and jumper over. The TUSB3410 on the TMDS181 EVM is already upgraded to support I2C mode.
