DS125DF410: Regarding the internal Eye Opening measurement of the DS125DF410.

Part Number: DS125DF410

Tool/software:

The DS125DF410 can measure HEO and VEO by reading the values of registers 0x27 and 0x28.
Additionally, by using the software SigCon Architect, the status of Eye Opening can be graphically confirmed from the Eye Monitor Page.

Are these results data before correction by CTLE and DFE?
Or are they data after correction?

If they are data before correction, they can be used to consider improvements in signal quality for the input signal of the DS125DF410.
If they are data after correction, they can be used to consider the optimization of the settings for CTLE and DFE of the DS125DF410.

I would like to know how these Eye Opening measurement functions can be utilized for either consideration.

  • Hi Tatsumasa-san,

The eye opening monitor reflects the signal after CTLE and DFE have been applied.  This can be observed in the block diagram of the device.

Please review the adapt modes (0, 1, 2) of this device.  These are used to adjust which parameters are automatically adapted.  If you're manually setting the CTLE and DFE, the eye opening can be used determine how effective your settings are.

    Thanks,

    Drew
