TSER953: Isolating V3Link interface

Part Number: TSER953
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDES954

Tool/software:

Is there a good way to isolate the V3Link signal between the TSER953 serializer and TDES954 deserializer? Normally, I would use a high speed LVDS isolator, but the V3Link signal is bidirectional. Is there a way to configure one of the GPIO on either the TSER953 or TDES954 so that it outputs the signal direction? Then I could switch directions with 2 separate LVDS isolators. If this is possible, would both devices be compatible with standard AC-coupled LVDS voltage levels?

  • Hello Caleb,

The serializer generates the Forward Channel signal and the Deserializer generates the Back Channel signal. There is no recommended way to isolate the signals when the SER and DES are connected to each other.
