Hi Team,

May I have your support on below question? Thanks.

1. J5-16, J5-12 should be J15-16, J15-12??

2. There is no J18 on the EVB, so it should be J10?

3. Full duplex RS485 should be 11?

4. There is no J16 and J18 on EVB

5.

The F81433A provides half duplex RS-485 transceiver which has termination resistor, bias resistor and TX enable low active with auto sensing (or auto direction control) feature.

RS-485 Driver enable mode’s auto sensing is through SOUT pin. In RS-485 Half Duplex Mode, Direction Control determines the data is forwarded to or sent from segments A and B.

THVD4411 doesn't seem to have this function?

  • Hi Wayne,

Thanks for bringing these typos to our attention. Your comments are correct, and I will work on updating this.

THVD4411 does not have auto direction control. The DIR pin is used to switch from transmitting to receiving.

If the customer is wanting a device with auto direction control, my recommendation would be to use the THVD1406 for RS-485 and a separate device for RS-232.

Let me know if that answers your questions,
