TPD4E02B04: Suitable device recommendation

Part Number: TPD4E02B04
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVS5200

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

My customer (CosMX) is designing PPS (Portable Power Station) and we want to promote TI's TVS. Do we have suitable TVS can cover below output interface at the same time? Thanks.

  • Type-C*2: 28V5A
  • Type-A*2: 9V3A
  • Cigarette Lighter: 20-48V/ 5-8A

Best Regards,

Ryker

  • Hi Ryker,

Since the voltages range for each one listed, it would need to be a different device for each. See below for recommendations:

    • Type-C*2: 28V5A
      • TVS2700 - The voltage is 27V but doesn't begin to breakdown until 29V so I believe this would be okay. The next closest device in voltage would be TVS3300 at 33V.
    • Type-A*2: 9V3A
      • This one is bit tricky because we don't have a device close to 9V that would work for this. I would recommend either TVS1400 at 14V or ESDS552 at 12V but this would be bidirectional and 2 channel.
    • Cigarette Lighter: 20-48V/ 5-8A
      • Right now, we do not have a device that can protect up to 48V. Towards the end of the year, we will be releasing TVS5200 which is a 52V diode that would be suitable.

Do you have more information on what's downstream for the protection diode?

    Best,

    McKenzie
