TVP5150AM1: Request for Support: TVP5150AM1PBSR Lot Information and Authenticity

Part Number: TVP5150AM1

Tool/software:

Dear

We are MG Tech a company specializing in the manufacturing of video equipment. Recently, we have encountered quality issues with the component TVP5150AM1PBSR, which we received through a turnkey supplier.

The issues observed include no video output and severe video noise, which are critical to our product's functionality. Although the turnkey supplier insists the components are genuine

Texas Instruments products, they have not provided any support for failure analysis or further investigation.

We would like to ask:
Is it possible to verify the authenticity of this component using only the information from the label (such as LOT number and top marking)?

we can provide high-resolution photos of the label and package markings for your reference.

We would greatly appreciate any guidance or support you can offer in verifying these parts, and also any advice on how to proceed with further analysis.

Thank you for your assistance in advance.

  • Hi,

We are MG Tech a company specializing in the manufacturing of video equipment.

I will take your device marking for internal investigation and get back with you. In the meantime, can you answer:

      - The percentage of failures. How many failure units out of how many total units?

      - Have you done any ABA swap test? Can you swap the failure unit from your board to a known good board and will the failure follow the device? Similarly, swap a known good 5150AM1 from a good board to a failure board? Will the good 5150AM1 continue to operate?

      - When it fails, does it happen immediately or after some time of operation?

      - Who is your turnkey supplier? If you don't want to reveal it on the public forum, you can send me a private message on e2e.

  • Hi,

I have not heard back from you. However, we have investigate the Lot Trace Code and the material is suspicious. the label Info doesn’t match. Please reach to to your turnkey supplier to resolve the issue.
