Tool/software:

Does the TUSB1104 support PCI Express Gen3?

  • HI Hitoshi:

TUSB1104 can not support PCI Express .

  • Thank you for your answer.

    I have some additional questions.

    1. What happens if I input PCI Express into the TUSB1104?

    2. The TUSB1004 supports PCI Express, but what is the difference with the TUSB1104?

    3. Is there any problem if I use the TUSB1004 instead of the TUSB1104?
       The connector is USB Type-C.
What kind of problems would there be if I used USB Type-C with the TUSB1004?

PCIe signal will not pass though TUSB1104 since TUSB1104  only work for USB3 signal.

The TUSB1004 supports PCI Express, but what is the difference with the TUSB1104?

in TUSB1004, PCie mode can be enabled in register 0x0D, but TUSB1104 can only work in USB3 mode.

You can use TUSB1004 for PCie application , but  PCIe don't support type-C port y.

For type-C , high speed signal start  transmitting only after successful CC communication  .

  • Thank you for your reply.

    Please tell me more.

    >PCIe signal will not pass though TUSB1104 since TUSB1104 only work for USB3 signal.

Does the TUSB1104 have a function that does not pass signals other than USB3?

    I don't understand the difference between TUSB1104 and TUSB1004.

Why does the TUSB1004 not support USB TypeC?

Can the TUSB1004 be used with USB TypeC if the system does not use CC/PD?

  • Does the TUSB1104 have a function that does not pass signals other than USB3?

TUSB1104  is default in USB3 mode, which  keep sending USB3 RX detect signal . After RX detect successful, TUSB1104 start  USB3 link training and will be turn on the channel after link training is successful

for signals other than USB3, link training process is different fromUSB3 and TUSB1104 channel will never be turned to pass signals.

Why does the TUSB1004 not support USB TypeC?

I said PCIe don't support  type-C connector . Did customer try to use type-C for PCIe?

TUSB1004 still can support type-C  with CC/PD controller.
