TCA9617A: How to Remove Pedestal with SDA and SCL Low Level

Part Number: TCA9617A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9803, , TCA9517A, TCA9517, TCA9511A, TCA4307

Tool/software:

Hi Teams,

How to Optimize Pedestal with SDA Low Level?

  • By replacing the TCA9617A with a buffer with a completely different architecture, e.g., TCA9803.

  • Hi Vayne,

The buffer pedestal is by design. TCA9517 / TCA9517A / TCA9617A/B will have this pedestal offset voltage VOLB.

The buffer that CLemens recommended is TCA9803 which requires no PU resistors on B-side to be used. This buffer uses a different architecture and offers a lower VOL.

Also consider TCA9511A or TCA4307 hot swap buffers. These devices implement a dynamic offset voltage where the output voltage is a VOS higher than its input.

    Regards,

    Tyler
