DS125BR800A: difference with DS125BR800

Part Number: DS125BR800A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS125BR800,

Tool/software:

Hello,

Our customer has a question about the difference between DS125BR800 and DS125BR800A. When I looked at the e2e below, the difference is either compliance with SAS-2 DS125BR800A or not DS125BR800. Could you let us know why DS125BR800A meets SAS-2 but DS125BR800 does not meets SAS-2. Does it comes from VID spec difference.

  • Hi Imi-san,

The key difference between these devices is that DS125BR800A supports SAS-3 signaling, while DS125BR800 does not support this.

SAS-3 implements low amplitude out of band (OOB) signaling.  In order to correctly handle this low amplitude signal in channels with higher insertion loss, the signal detect circuitry of DS125BR800A was improved and made more sensitive.
