TSD36: Maximum VBR

Part Number: TSD36

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Could you let me know the maximum voltage of VBR?
The protected device's maximum input voltage is rated at 70V.
In this case, is Vclamp(max)=67V the parameter I should refer?
I'm not sure how to calculate the surge current, but the application is motor drive, so I believe IEC61800 could be reference.

Best regards,

Kazuki Itoh

  • Hi Kazuki,

If you are trying to protect a downstream device with a maximum rating of 70V, the number you're looking for is VCLAMP. For this device, the VCLAMP for TLP at 16A is 53V and the VCLAMP for surge at 7A is 67V, so in both cases TSD36 should be good enough.

    Best,

    Chris
