Dear team.

I like to build the system below;
1. Connect to iPad with USB Type-C and it also has type-C receptacle
2. supply power with 5V/3A to iPad and charge.
3. It works as "USB device" with PCM2704C and play music.

I am not sure TUSB320LAI can support it. I mean data role "device" and power role "source" with iPad.

Can you please tell me if it is possible? or do we need USB-PD data/power role swap feature to establish this system? If so please let me know our solution.

Hi Yuto,

Just to confirm, you want a device that can source power, but receive data when connected to an iPad? If that is the case, yes, that would entail role-swap functionality, which our CC controllers cannot provide. This type of functionality is only provided by a PD controller I believe. I would recommend looking into a PD controller for that type of functionality.
