TUSB212: Regarding the TUSB212 layout guidelines.

Part Number: TUSB212

Tool/software:

Hi AE,

The spec only the red-boxed part is useful: route 90Ω traces under the device.

Could you provide more layout guidelines or related information? Thanls!

  • Hi Bruce,

The DP/DM traces need to stay connected beneath the USB2 redriver, as the USB2 redriver does not carry the signal through the device. The redriver monitors the DP/DM lanes, and injects current into the signal once it sees a successful HS handshake as the signal moves through the DP/DM lanes beneath it.

As such, it is recommended to maintain the DP/DM lanes beneath the device, making sure the DP/DM pins on the device touch their respective lanes.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
