DP83TC814S-Q1: SQI value is always at Level 2. Need help to understand the cause

I am getting the SQI value as 2 always despite the change in media converter / rework.

1. With Technica Media Converter and 1m harness

2. Even after shortening / directly connecting with out connectors the SQI level is the same at level 2

Please let me know how to debug.

Can you provide us your schematic so we can check the PHY configuration?
Can you confirm that you are following the TDR procedure of the latest SNLA389E document? (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla389e/snla389e.pdf)?

Hi Evan,

Thank you for your reply. Below is my reponse.

2. No, I am not following the TDR procedure, specified above. I have connected the PHY to a raspberry pi through media converter. I am reading the ping on the raspberry, while reading the SQI value.
