DS160PR410: Programming guide register explain.

Part Number: DS160PR410

Tool/software:

Hi:

While I reading the ds160pr410 programming guide, there are some registers I can't it's corresponding detail explain and don't know it's meaning. Could you provide a detailed explain for registers mentioned below.

1.Here the CTLE termination is the input termination or output termination? Will it infect the output Vpp?

2. What does the TX VOD means?

3. What does the 'Enable overrides for driver and equalizer enables' means?

4. What are 'Pre-driver' and 'Driver' meaning? What is the difference between them?

5. What does 'CM Loop' means?

  • Hi Rui,

    2. What does the TX VOD means?

The VOD is one of the settings that influences the DC gain of the redriver (see Table 2 in the datasheet). It is already configured by the hardware strap pin so I don't recommend changing it at the register level.

All of these are low-level signal path settings used by TI for design and validation. I do not recommend that customers change them from their default values because they will likely decrease the performance of the redriver.
