TUSB3410 Help required

have two ICs - TUSB3410 USB IC and 24LC128 Memory IC

 

Both are fresh and unprogrammed. When I connect my board to PC USB connector, windows can not find the connected device. And in device manger it shows “No device”,” USB device not recognised”.

My question is how to connect my device to windows So that I can reprogram it to my own VID & PID using EEPROM burner

But for that device should be detect first by windows on default VID & PID stored in TUSB3410

    When you connect a brand new EVM in a PC, that’s the expected behavior (as you said, both EEPROM and TUSB3410 are clean…). There’s a procedure to get the TUSB3410 with default VID/PID recognized by the host PC after the EEPROM burner application (http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/sllc259a) has been installed. Please take a look at “SLLA179A – Using the EEPROM burner”.

    Then you also might take a look to the Header Generator Utility (http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/sllc297). This utility will let you generate a BIN file that can be burned into the EEPROM using the burner app. Follow the “Header Gen User's Guide.txt” included within the utility.

    Dear sir,

    Yes you are right but for eeprom burner device should be detect first by windows...without that in device seletion menu in eeprom burner application is blank.

    my fresh TUSB3410 is not detect on it's default VID PID. I have thought that TUSB3410 is damaged . But I have changed 3 new TUSB3410 IC. but still windows says device not recognized.

    EEPROM burner is second thing..after detection TUSB3410.

    can u plez Help me out in this problem.

    That sounds like the device is functioning but Windows can't find a driver for it. If it isn't working at all you would get a different message (on XP it's a little pop-up bubble down the bottom right of the screen). Try right-clicking in device manager. Check the reported VID and PID. Then maybe try 'Install driver' and point it to the tusb3410.inf file which will be in c:\program files\texas instruments\tusb3410 eeprom installer. However that shouldn't be necessary if the burner installed correctly, certainly I've never had any trouble with it.

    In fact if you’ve successfully installed the EEPROM burner utility, it first installs the EEPROM burner’s driver (that it’s not digitally signed) and then the SW application tool. The burner’s driver needs the TUSB3410 default descriptors, and then it will load a FW that will let the TUSB3410 appear under the USB controllers category at device manager. I've attached to this post a PDF document showing the steps that contains steps for using the Header generator utility, the EEPROM burner app and some other stuff...
