TCAN1046AV-Q1: How to keep recessive mode

Part Number: TCAN1046AV-Q1

Tool/software:

hi, i'm seungyeon lim in HL Klemove company.

i use a TCAN1046AV-Q1

i sholud calculate internal resistance in TCAN1046AV-Q1 because OEM want to receive our internal resistance.

but to calculate internal resistance, TCAN 1046AV-Q1 have to keep recessive mode in OEM Test Spec document.

so i want to know how to keep recessive mode by HW.

if there is no method by HW, please how to keep recessive mode by SW

  • Hi Seungyeon,

You may use both hardware or software.
With hardware, simply tie STB low for normal mode while VCC and VIO remain powered. Then permanently pull TXD high. This forces the device to never drive dominant bits and stays recessive.

With Software, disable the controller preventing any CAN frames from being sent. Also ensure the device is in normal mode and may use GPIO to drive TXD high while ensuring any wake up or low power interrupts are disabled and this ensures TXD high at all times for the needed recessive bus.

Note that this is also specified as RID in the data sheet, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
