Can the DP83867IR operate reliable with 10G magnetics?

DP83867IR requires 320-350uH open circuit inductance, what most 1G magnetics have.

The board under design has several 10G ports, which need inductance of 160uH, could we re-use the same for the 1G interface? (other parameters like insertion loss, return loss, turn ration are all similar)

Hello,

We have not characterized the device to operate with magnetics with 160uH inductance, only with 350uH. I would recommend prototyping with this and validating that this would work in your end application.

Would this different inductance also impact receiver sensitivity and/or immunity? these would be very difficult (and time consuming) to validate if they completely comply with the standard and/or datasheet. We could only do 1Gbit/s ethernet compliance tests and functional test, but this would only have limited coverage.

If this is not characterized by TI, it also sounds that its not really supported by TI. We plan to use it in series production, which is then probably not a good idea.
