We are previously using the "SN65DP159RGZR" HDMI 2.0 RETIMER IC for HDMI. Now we are looking for the 8K support HDMI 2.1 RETIMER. Please suggest us the part which can support HDMI 2.1 RETIMER IC.

    Hi Sampat,

    We currently do not have any retimer solution. We only have retimer solution which are TDP1204. If the source is AC coupled, we recommend TDP2004 which has a better performance at 12G than TDP1204 if you consider redriver solution.

     Hi,

    I have checked the datasheet for the TDP2004, and it is specified as a DisplayPort Redriver. However, we are specifically looking for an HDMI 2.1 Retimer solution.

    I also checked the AMD VEK280 evaluation board, where the TMDS1204BRNQR chip is used for HDMI 2.1 applications. According to the datasheet, this part is described as a Redriver IC. Interestingly, the evaluation board uses the TMDS1204BRNQR on both the HDMI-TX (Output) and HDMI-RX (Input) sides.

    Could you please confirm whether the TMDS1204BRNQR can be used as a Retimer or Redriver for HDMI 2.1 applications?

    Hi Sampat,

    TDP2004 is also possible to be used for HDMI 2.1 if the source is AC coupled. We are currently updating the datasheet to include this information.

    And yes, TMDS1204 can be used as HDMI 2.1 redriver.
