Could Ti have a surge test report? I can't get surge test report form EMC report list.

For surge protection for CANH & CANL, do you have any recommendation components?

I believe you are referring to ESD surge tests. Please see the IBEE reports for all available testing.

Hi Michael,

I see IBEE test report and there is no surge test report. How does TI do surge test for TCAN1042HGV-Q1?
ESD2CAN24-Q1 is usually used to protect device from ESD damaging, not surge protection. Do you recommend add TVS for surge protection in CANH & CANL?

Hi Beida,

1. Please search for immunity, burst, ESD reports in the IBEE test report. The report includes ISO pulses / surge waveforms that the device must withstand.

2. You may use any surge rated TVS diode to handle slower, high energy surges as needed, per your system requirements, thanks.

I find there is only ESD report and there is no surge waveform. Could you share the surge waveform report or download link?

The surge standard is IEC 61000-4-5. Do we have any test waveform? If not, could you can make a test for TCAN1042V-Q1?

Unfortunately, 4-5 is more related to the system / equipment level requirement dependent on the board layout, external parts, coupling networks, etc. While it may be nice to have, we do not provide it and mainly provide the device level requirement listed in data sheet and will not be providing any additional data but may refer to the IBEE report with more info on IEC 61000-4-2, similar to the data sheet, thanks.
