This part is not AEC Q100 rated for automotive (denoted by the "-Q1" suffix on a part number). It is designed for industrial and general consumer electronics. The datasheet lists some potential applications on the first page.

Please look into MAX3232E-Q1 which is AEC Q100 rated for automotive environments and will work for all those applications listed.
