TLIN1027-Q1: OBD Communication

Part Number: TLIN1027-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLIN2027-Q1, TLIN1029-Q1

Tool/software:

I am working on an application that requires reading OBD‑II data from a vehicle using the following protocols:

  • K-Line (ISO 9141-2)
  • SAE J1850 PWM / SAE J1850 VPW

Could you please support me with the following information:

  1. Available Transceiver ICs
    • A list of recommended TI transceiver chips/ICs for each protocol.
  2. Datasheets & Reference Schematics
    • Datasheet and application schematic for each suggested transceiver.
  3. Product Longevity
    • Expected product longevity for each chip.
    • Will the chip remain in production long‑term, or are there end‑of‑life considerations?
  4. Pricing Information
    • Price list for the transceivers (for both small quantities and volume orders, if available).

Thank you for your support. I look forward to your guidance.

Best regards,
Osama

  • Hi Osama,

The selected device TLIN1027-Q1 supports K-Line (also mentioned in the data sheet). The data sheet includes schematics as well.

You may also see TLIN2027-Q1 / TLIN1029-Q1. There is no plan for end of life as of this time. See TI's commitment for longevity.

For the other protocols, you will need an MCU for J1850 plus a basic analog interface as we support LIN and CAN transceivers.

For pricing, please reach out to your regional / local TI representative or with the marketing team celia@ti.com, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
