Tool/software:
Hi,
I am using TPD4S012 for ESD protection on my PCB. During regular operation, something has occurred which has resulted in severe damage to the component. The damage can be seen below and results in shorts to ground. I am trying to figure out what could have caused this to happen. My current guess is a large ESD discharge, but wanted to check in case there are any design issues.
The USB device is a Verdin iMX8 Plus SoM (https://developer.toradex.com/hardware/verdin-som-family/modules/verdin-imx8m-plus/)
The connector for USB on the PCB is a Fischer MR11WQ08 0019 AN2 E1AP-P3966 (https://rodantech.com/product/fischer-connectors-mr11wq08-0019-an2-e1ap/)
Please see the implementation below.
Thank you,
Tom
