Greetings!!
We are using the DP83869 Ethernet PHY with the HM5149NL isolation Xfr in our design. While routing the MDI lines, we’re facing some issues. Please refer to the attached image for details.
We have a few questions:
1. Can we swap the P and N lines of the MDI signals?
2. Does the DP83869 support auto polarity detection and correction?
3. If not, should we swap the connections on the other side of the Xfr to keep the polarity correct?
Also, we understand that the Xfr does not have fixed polarity, and if both sides are swapped, it should not make a difference electrically. Please confirm if this understanding is correct.
