TPS563203: Schematic Review

Tool/software:

We want to go with simulated circuitry in WEBENCH.

Query: 

1. Suggested inductor (74437349047) value is 4.7uH/6.2A. Can we go with inductor with lesser current rating 3A, since my output current is not going to exceed 2A ?

2. How much time Cout of 66uF can sustain, in case of input dip? Is there any calculation?

3. We are generating 3 outputs (3.3V, 2.5V & 1.2V) from same source of 5V, (output of DC-DC converter, filter is given at input of this DC-DC converter), so EMI filter is not required at input of this buck converters, we believe. Please share your thoughts on this.

    Hi Mitesh,

    1. Please use inductor whose current rating should be more than 3A, because ripple current is minimum of 20% of load current it means in your case it would be 600mA. 

     then IL = 2.6A.

    2. For this, you have to do simulation, or you have to test the board.

    3. You can ignore the EMI filter.
