TVS0701: Is it suitable for AM26C31's output port

Part Number: TVS0701
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26C31, , TSD12C

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer is using AM26C31 and met the issue taht output port is short to GND.

Based on previous E2E link: https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/1547224/am26c31-output-distortion/5961609?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=%2520user%253A507745#

Do you think that if TVS0701 or TSD12C are suitable for AM26C31's output port.

Thx.

  • Hi Gary,

What is the max common mode voltage range they need to support?

I see the common mode voltage range of the AMC26C31 is +/-14V, so as long as the customer is okay with supporting a slightly lower common mode voltage range TSD12C could be used.

TVS0701 would likely not be able to support the signal speed due to slew rate limitations of 2.5V/us.

I noticed in the thread you linked the issue is during power on.

Is there any scope shots to see what voltage is on the line during power up? Also was the competitor ESD diode being damaged or just the AMC26C31?

    Regards,

    Sebastian
