DS90UB913A-Q1: Power supply pins capacitors

Part Number: DS90UB913A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi All,

I have a question about the DS90UB913A.

(1) Regarding the VDDCML0 capacitor, the data sheet recommends 0.01uF, 0.1uF, and 22uF, but the EVM uses 0.1uF, 1uF, and 22uF.
Which recommendation should I follow?

(2) Regarding the VDDT and VDDD capacitors, the data sheet recommends 0.01uF and 0.1uF, but the EVM uses 0.1uF and 1uF.
Which recommendation should I follow?
Also, these power supplies are isolated as a group by ferrite beads. Should I use the EVM as the recommended circuit?

(3) Regarding the VDDPLL capacitor, the data sheet recommends 0.01uF, 0.1uF, and 4.7uF, but the EVM uses 0.1uF and 1uF.
Which recommendation should I follow?

Best Regards,
Ishiwata

  • Hi Ishiwata,

Thank you for reaching out with your question. We recommend following the datasheet recommendation for all power supply pins mentioned in your question. Per the typical applications diagram, it is recommended to use independent ferrite beads on the VDDPLL and VDDCML pins. Ferrite beads are not required on the VDDT and VDDD pins.

    Best,

    Zoe
