Hello Team,

We need the Arbitration bit rate of TCAN1043GDMTRQ1. We know from datasheet that the data bit rate supports upto 5Mbps. But what is the Arbitration bit rate of this part number. It is not mentioned in the datasheet.

    Thanks for reaching out on E2E.

    This device supports data rates up to 5Mbps, which includes the typical 1Mbps data rate for arbitration. Regular CAN transceivers do not process the difference between arbitration and regular CAN communication, they simply transmit TXD to the bus and output the bus on RXD. The CAN controller is responsible for this data rate change when going from arbitration to sending the CAN message. So in general any CAN transceiver that supports up to 5Mbps will also support and any lower data rates for arbitration. 

    As a side note, if you are looking into a new CAN transceiver for your design, I would highly recommend the TCAN1043N. This device is essentially an updated version of the TCAN1043G and has many improved features in addition to a lower cost. Both of these devices are pin to pin and software compatible.
