TCA39306-Q1: Unable to validate IBIS simulation

Part Number: TCA39306-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

TCA39306-Q1 is planned to use as Level shifter + Buffer for the MDIO interface. The MDIO interface host operates at 1.8V logic level & We planned to connect 5 slave(3.3V logic) deices with host through TCA39306-Q1. To validate i am trying to simulate the interface by using the IBIS models provided in the website. I am not getting the level shifted output, instead i could see the same input appears on the output.

Can you please help me to validate TCA39306-Q1 part with simulation.

Thanks,

Ramesh M

  • Hi Ramesh,

The device is a switch (passFET) architecture so it will be difficult to replicate it in an IBIS (I/O buffer info specification). To simulate the output of a 3V3 signal, you will need to drive the input up to 3V3 as well. The model that you have selected here is correct to use however. Please also see the EVM to evaluate the silicon per your system setup as well:
