TCAN1162-Q1: Is there a way to put the TCAN1162 into normal mode when nSLP is low?

Part Number: TCAN1162-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

Purpose: Customers need to perform initial programming.

After waking up, the TCAN1162 enters sleep mode. However, because the initial MCU I/O is 0, nSLP is low. This causes the CAN bus to remain inactive, making it impossible to program the MCU.

Is there a way to put the TCAN1162 into normal mode when nSLP is low?

Thanks and best regards,

  • Hi David,

nSLP must be high in order for TCAN1162 to enter Normal mode. This is shown in the state machine:

However, if you just need INH high, I would recommend using a wake event while in Sleep mode. This can be from an active CAN bus or by using the Wake pin. This will set the device into Standby mode with INH high for about 3-5min until the tINACTIVE timer runs out. After this tINACTIVE time, the device will re-enter Sleep mode.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Best,

    Ethan
