TMUXHS221: TMUXHS221NKGR USB EYE Mask Specification/data.

Part Number: TMUXHS221

Tool/software:

Dear TI,

As we are using TMUXHS221NKGR (USB2.0 480Mbps) in one of our designs and we wanted to know the EYE Mask Specification/data for TMUXHS221NKGR to conlcude on the SI simulation.

Thank you.

  • Dear TI,

One another clarification with respect to TMUXHS221NKGR, Since TMUXHS221NKGR is a Passive MUX can we please know why is the IBIS Model provide for TMUXHS221NKGR Passive MUX?

Attaching the screen shot for your reference with the highlight on the Passive MUX.

  • Hi Amarnath,

The eye diagrams are in the datasheet. Are you looking for the raw data files? We have some s-parameters files that may be more useful: TMUXHS4212_s4p_v1.zip

We sometimes create models in IBIS for passive devices. I'm not exactly sure what the question is but I'm understanding this as concern that it isn't actually a passive mux. It is one. IBIS does allow for some passive devices to be modeled (although I understand it doesn't feel as though it belongs in that modeling environment)
Sometimes, specific customers/engineers may ask for a model and we generate them and decide, even if it won't be much use to the majority of customers using the device (most prefer s-parameters for high speed devices), it may be useful to someone else so we will put it online for all to use-which is the case for this device as I was actually involved with generating the IBIS here for.

  • Hi Rami,

The s-parameters shared have some passivity issues, reciprocity issues and causality issues (images attached below) due to which we are having difficulty performing AMI simulations.

Please share the s-parameter files with these issues fixed.

We can observe that s(1,2) and s(2,1) are not reciprocal, s(3,4) and s(4,3) are not reciprocal

  • Hi Amarnath,

I've reached out to my internal team that handles the S-parameters to see what feedback they can provide. I will keep you posted

    Thanks,
