DS160PR410: Test issue

Part Number: DS160PR410

Tool/software:

Hi,

When measuring the PCIe RX (Received) signal, we entered loopback mode, but the BERT tester showed a large number of received losses, so we could not proceed with further testing, as shown in the figure below.

Since the TX and RX of this PCIe port are connected to the TI DS160PR410 redriver, may I ask if any specific configuration is required for this redriver when performing RX signal measurements? Thank you.

Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,

PCIe RX compliance is a complicated test where extra insertion loss and additional noise/stress is added to the link, so the best redriver settings to help pass this test will be very different across the projects of different customers and can often only be found by experimentation. The customer here can first try adjusting the EQ in small steps upwards and downwards to see if there is a positive or negative effect on the error count.

    Best,

    Evan Su
