Hi,

We are currently referring to the schematics of the DP83TD510E-EVM for one of our media converter projects and have a few questions:

1. Can the PHY—DP83TD510E and DP83822 operate using strap resistors and without a controller?


2. Could you please confirm the strap configuration for the PHYs?

Our requirements are for an RMII interface to work as a media converter and LED indications for LINK establishment.


3. Is autonegotiation possible with the suggested strap configuration?

    Yes, the media converter can operate independently using only straps to set the device into the desired configuration

    I will be happy to take a look at your strapping and confirm if it is set for the correct mode. You can attach your schematic here, or in a private message to me.

    Auto-negotiation can be disabled or enabled via register access. It is enabled by default.
