DP83867IR: Regarding straps and modes for DP83867 RGMII

I am considering configuring RGMII by connecting an AM5708 and a DP83867.

This is basic information, but I don't clearly understand things like straps and modes.

Could you please provide me with some clear documentation or explanations?

    The DP83867 uses many of the functional pins as strap options to place the device into specific modes of operation. The values of these pins are sampled at power up or hard reset. The strap option pin assignments are defined in Table 7-5 of the DP83867 datasheet. The attached design review checklist serves the same function as Table 7-5 and you can use it to quickly find the right strapping mode depends on your design requirement.
