MAX3232: PN# MAX3232MPWREP - Question regarding trace code

Part Number: MAX3232

Tool/software:

For PN# MAX3232MPWREP, we purchased through authorized distributor but trace code showing from TI's certificate does not match with actual marking.

On the actual part marking: 35KAZXO

On the TI certificate: 35AZX0K

As compared to certificate and actual marking, I can tell it has different sequence marked on the part.

In this case, I would like you check;

1) If trace code shown from actual marking and certificate are same

2) Sequence how TI is marking trace code on the actual marking.

Please advise ASAP.

  • 1) If trace code shown from actual marking and certificate are same

    They look at the same to me.

    2) Sequence how TI is marking trace code on the actual marking.

    For lot trace code for most packages (I think an exception for PDIPs) we use the date code from the first two from the second line then the 4 characters from the third row then back to the second row and take the assembly site code (yours is K).

    So lot trace code = 2 character date code from second row + third row 4 characters + assembly site from third character on second row

    your example = 35 + AZX0 + K

    35 = 2023 of 5th month (May)

    AZX0 = lot number

    K = assembly site (Malaysia)

    Not sure why TI does this but this is how we look up lot trace codes based on device top markings.
