Hi Teams,

We use TUSB8041 port 4 connect to TUSB4041. What is the proper connection for the TUSB4041's VBUS pin? Is it acceptable to apply power directly to it? thanks.

Hi:

1: for hub1, need to supply Vbus with Vbus switch for port4.

2: connect Vbus from hub1 port 4 to USB_VBUS of hub2 with voltage divider.

HI Brian,

So, the signal path is: from TUSB8041's port 4, through the TPS254900A (handling DP, DM, and VBUS),

and then into the upstream port and VBUS of the TUSB4041. Is that correct?

Can we replace the TPS254900A with MOSFET switches. and connect the two DM/DP lines directly, thanks.

You can connect DP/DM of TUSB8041 port 4 to TUSB4041 upstream port DP/DM directly.

it should be Vbus switch which can be controlled by PWRCTL4 of TUSB8041.

We are confused. Why do we need an external power switch? Is there a timing sequence requirement? Thanks.

power switch has Fault pin for over current protection, I don't think MOSFET switch can support overcurrent.
