THVD2452V: SLR Selectable Data Rates

Hello,

I am looking at using the THVD2452V in a new design and I was wondering if there is any reason to 50 Mbps data rate configuration (THVD2452V with the SLR pin pulled low) couldn't be used for data rates slower than 50 Mbps? The application is a general purpose transceiver and I would like the flexibility to adjust the data rate depending on the specific use case.

The device itself has no lower limit on the data rate.

With SLR pulled low, the output edges are very fast. This could lead to EMI problems.

Hi Jessica,

I agree with Clemens. This transceiver can certainly be used at lower data rates, and the SLR pin is to help with EMI. If EMI is not a concern, you can always keep the device with SLR=low and use lower data rates.
