SN65LVDS348: Logical threshold levels SN65LVDS348

Part Number: SN65LVDS348

Tool/software:

I would like to know what the trigger thresholds are for the outputs: in one case, a Vid difference of 50mV is specified, in another an 80mV difference for the failsafe, and in the electrical specifications, a range from -100mV to -32mV is mentioned. Why are these data points?

  • Hi Tommaso,

-80 mV is the typical value for the failsafe voltage. The device will go into failsafe mode when the input differential voltage is held within -32 to -100 mV for the amount of time specified by td2 in the switching characteristics table (0.3 us min). The 50mV you se specified in VITH1 and VITH2 are for normal operation when there is a driver sending LVDS signals to the receiver. Once the differential voltage passes 50mV, you will see a transition on the output.

    Regards,
